Mrs. Ella A. Palmer Dies Wednesday

Mrs. Ella Anderson Palmer, 84, Oneida county resident since 1905, died Wednesday night at the Oneida Hospital of a heart ailment.

Born at Brigham City, Utah, August 11, 1873, she was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Anderson. Reared and educated at Brigham City, she was married to Fredrick Henry Palmer on Dec. 29, 1891 at Brigham and they became pioneer settlers of Holbrook in 1905. The family moved to Malad during the winters and settled here permanently in 1917. Mr. Palmer died in January, 1939. One son and one daughter also preceded her in death.

A member of the L.D.S. Church, Mrs. Palmer was a Relief Society teacher at Holbrook for several years and made her home visits by horse and buggy. She was also a member of the Malad Chapter of American War Mothers. Mrs. Palmer had one son in military service during World War I, two sons and six grandsons serving during World War II.

Surviving are the following sons and daughters: Mrs. Guy (Mabel) Leigh, Ogden; Mrs. Bessie Scott, Malad; Russell Palmer, Ogden; Mrs. Edward (Iona) Woozley, Bethseda, Maryland; John W. Palmer, Aberdeen, Ida.; Mrs. Robert (Josie) Rouse, Santa Cruz, California; Golden L. Palmer and James (Billy) Palmer, Aberdeen; also, 27 grandchildren 54 great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 22nd, in the Malad Second ward with Bishop Colen H. Sweeten, Jr. of the Malad Fourth ward officiating. Friends may call at the home of Mrs. Palmer, Malad, Friday evening and Saturday until time of services.
