Funeral services will be conducted here Friday at 1 p.m. in Malad Fourth LDS Ward Chapel for Mrs. Elizabeth Jones Owens, age 81, Bishop Darrell Swartz will officiate.
Mrs. Owens died Tuesday evening in Caribou County Hospital, Soda Springs of natural causes. She was born March 17, 1891, at Malad to David E. and Catherine Evans Jones. She married Edward T. Owens Nov. 25, 1920, at Malad, and the marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. Mr. Owens died Jan. 25, 1951. Mrs. Owens was educated in Malad schools. She was an active member of the LDS Church, a member f World War 1 Auxiliary, and a past president of American Legion Auxiliary.
Surviving are a son, Edward D., Ogden; two daughters, Mrs. Stanley (Betty) Barnes, Bountiful; Mrs. Bonnie John, Pocatello; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, R.L. Jones, Nampa; foster brother, Grant L. Ripley, Ogden; four sisters, Mrs. Grant (Catherine) Morgan, Salt Lake City; Mrs. E. R. (Mabel) Jones, Mrs. W. Clyde (Margaret) Williams, both of Boise; Mrs. Roald (Della) Campbell, Columbus, Ohio.
Friends may call at Benson Funeral Home Thursday evening and Friday prior to services. Burial will be in Malad City Cemetery. Benson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
