Elden Schlehuber

Elden Wayne Schlehuber, 57, of Bountiful and a former Pocatello resident died Tuesday, August 21, at his home of cancer.

He was born May 31, 1927 in Pocatello to Laurence and Pearl Garrett Schlehuber. He grew up and was educated in Pocatello and was a graduate of Pocatello High School.

He had served in the Armed Forces during World War II.

He married Jean Renee Evans September 21, 1951 in Malad. He had been employed for 22 years with the REA (Railway Express Agency), which deals with moving and storage. He had been a manger with the company for several years and had worked in Idaho and Utah.

He had resided in Bountiful the past 25 years.

He was a member of the LDS Church and had worked in the Scouting program. He enjoyed the outdoors and hunting.

He is survived by his wife, of Bountiful, one son, Kent W., Farmington, Utah; two daughters, Mrs. Rick (Terra) Smith, Bountiful; Mrs. Charles (Tonja) Edgington, Kit Carson, Colorado; five grandchildren; his father, Pocatello; a brother, Robert L. Schelhuber, Pocatello; two sisters, Mrs. Richard (Lula) Swindell, Challis; Mrs. George (Betty Lou) Probart, Rock Springs, wyoming[Wyoming] and Dale A. Evans, father-in-law. He was preceded in death by his mother.

Funeral service were held Friday at 11 a.m. in the Bountiful Russon Brothers Mortuary, located at 295 N. Main Street in Bountiful. Burial was in the Malad City Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were under the direction fo[of] the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home.
