EDWIN F. SOLOMON

Edwin Frank Solomon, 80, passed away Sept. 1, 2000 at St. Marks Hospital of heart failure.

Born June 4, 1920 in Malad, ID to Frank and Mina Bryson Solomon. He married Beverley Thurman, April 23, 1943 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died June 5, 1999. He graduated from the U of U, was a Veteran of World War II, US Army and was a retired manager for Anderson Lumber Inc.

Ed was a charter member of the Murray Rotary Club and was true Rotarian in every sense of the word, he was a Paul Harris Fellow, a past president and club treasurer and provided many hours of service in affiliation with the Rotary Club. He was a member of the Mt. States Lumber Dealer Assoc. for many years, a past member of the Home Builders Assoc. of Greater Salt Lake. He was an active member of the LDS church, a high priest and served faithfully in numerous callings, most recently in the 12th ward of the LDS Big Cottonwood Stake.

Ed was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and he was an example of courage as he overcame many physical challenges due to being stricken with polio at an early age.

Survived by sons Edwin (Ted) F. Solomon (Laura), Phillip T. Solomon (Janet); grandchildren, Jon (Tommy), Paul (Cindy), Stacie Chad and Laura; great-grandchildren, Madison and Ryan; brother Donald; numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Services will be 12 noon Tues., Sept. 5, Big Cottonwood LDS Stake Center, 1750 E. Spring Lane. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Mon. at Jenkins-Soffe Motuary, 4760 S. State St. and Tuesday at the church 11:-11:45 a.m. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Cemetery.
