Edward R. Pingel

Edward Ray Pingel, 51, of Garland, was dead on arrival Wednesday, October 24, 1984, at the Bear River Valley Hospital in Tremonton of a heart attack.

He was born June 14, 1933, in Oakland, California, a son of Edward Hyrum and Helen Wright Pingel.

He married Marlene Ann Rudd July 21, 1951, in Plymouth, Utah. The marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on November 21, 1951.

He had resided in Garland the past three years, Centerville 1 1/2 years, Woods Cross 1 1/2 years, North Salt Lake four years, Kaysville 11 years and Salt Lake City four years.

He was reared and educated in Malad, Idaho. He graduated from Malad High School and Utah Technical College.

He was a high priest in the Garland 2nd LDS Ward. He was presently serving as gospel doctrine teacher and home teacher. He had served in the past as ward clerk and assistant high priest group leader in the Wellsville 4th Ward.

He was a member of the Deseret Male Chorus in Salt Lake City from 1970 through 1978.

He had served on the board of directors of the Carpenters Credit Union.

He was an electrician at Morton Thiokol and was also self-employed as a finish carpenter.

Surviving are his widow of Garland; three sons and three daughters, David Ray Pingel, Layton; Pvt. Richard Dean Pingel, serving in the U.S. Army at Ft. Eustis, Virginia; Mrs. Thomas R. (Teresa Ann) Moore, West Valley City; William Edward Pingel, Deborah Kaye Pingel and Jacqie [Lynne Pingel, all of Garland; six grandchildren.

Also surviving are his stepmother, Mrs. Edward H. (Leona) Pingel, Rupert, Idaho; two brothers and three sisters, Melvin H. Pingel, Burley, Idaho; Robert D. Pingel, Berneice F. Giles, both of Tremonton; Sheila K. Bloxham. Pocatello, Idaho; two step-brothers, Darrell Marshall, Cascade, Idaho; Kenneth Marshall, Rupert, Idaho.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Garland Ward Chapel. Burial in the Kaysville Cemetery.
