Edith M. DeChambeau dies Mar. 8 in Boise

Services for Edith Mae DeChambeau, age 71, of Boise, who died of natural causes at home Tuesday, March 8, (1977) were conducted Friday at Boise’s Relyea Chapel by Patriarch Cecil Gilmore, Reorganized Church of Latter-day Saints. Interment was in Morris Hill Cemetery.

She was born Nov. 7, 1905, in Malad and attended school here. She was a Malad High School valedictorian, received her teaching certificate from the Idaho Technical Institution, now Idaho State University at Pocatello, and began her teaching career at age 17.

She taught school in Malad for two years and Grandview for two years, where she met Elgy 0. DeChambeau, who was teaching school at Grandview at the time. They were married June 11,1927, in Malad. They moved from Pocatello to Boise in 1930. She was a member of the Reorganized LDS Church.

Survivors include her husband, Boise; a son, James, Boise; three sisters, Mrs. Jenkin (Sara) Palmer, Boise, Mrs. Ada Lusk, Malad, and Mrs. Kelly (Eliza) Shuda, Ogden; a brother, David M. Thomas, Jr., Garland, Utah and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, David, in 1960.
