Edith Evelyn Mills Stokes

Edith Evelyn Mills Stokes, 76, died Friday, September13, 1985 at her home in Snowville, Utah of heart failure.

She was born May 14, 1909 in Ogden, Utah the daughter of Thomas and Inga Christina Emmerson Mills.

She married William LeRoy Stokes November 10, 1924 in Brigham City, Utah. He died June 11, 1983.

She was reared and educated in Black Pine, Idaho before moving to Snowville, Utah in 1939.

She was a member of the Curlew LDS Ward serving as a visiting teacher from the age of 9. She also served as Work and Business leader and as a Primary teacher.

She worked as a cook for the Box Elder County School District for 25 years.

Survivors include six sons, Heber Jay Stokes, Magna, Utah; Thomas L. Stokes, St. Anthony, Idaho; DeLoy (Bill) Stokes, Coleville, Utah; Jim Stokes, Stone, Idaho; Ferron Stokes, Garland, Utah; Boyd W. Stokes, Idaho Falls, Idaho. Twenty-Five grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Two brothers and two sisters, William Richard Mills, Malad, Idaho; C*yron Wayne Mills Snowville, Utah; Mrs. Wilma Nelson, New Plymouth, Idaho and Mrs. Beth Giordano, Ogden, Utah.

Her husband and one daughter preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 17 at 1:00 p.m. in the Curlew LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop C. Lyle Arbon officiatiang[officiating]

Interment was in Snowville Cemetery.
