Edith Berrett Timothy, 71, died Thursday, October 6, 1994, in the Oneida County Hospital of a lingering illness.

She was born September 9, 1923, in Park City, Utah, a daughter of George A. and Etta Alice Walke Berrett. She married Glade Timothy September 9, 1942, in Altonah, Utah. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple.

Mrs. Timothy was reared and educated in Park City, Altonah and Provo, Utah, and attended schools in Altamont, Utah. She had lived in Tremonton and Garland, Utah, and Malad, Idaho. She received a degree as a licensed practical nurse, and had worked at the Tremonton Hospital and Box Elder County Nursing Home in Utah.

She also had worked with the Red Cross bloodmobile. She was an excellent seamstress, enjoyed all typed (sic) of hard work, and won blue ribbons for her quilts, which have been enjoyed by many.

She was a member of the LDS Church, and served in many positions in all the auxiliaries. Her favorite was Relief Society, where she served faithfully for many years.

Survivors include two sons, and two daughters and their spouses, Kenneth and Gloria Timothy of Malad, Idaho, Raymond and Janeene Timothy of Brigham City, Utah; Carol and Bob Holt, Richland, Washington; and Beverly and Max Flinders, Hooper, Utah; 19 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; one brother, Robert and Phyllis Berrett, Rangely, Colorado; and one sister, Mary Elizabeth (Betty) and Dick Clark, Garland, Utah. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Marlan T. Berrett and George T. Berrett, three sisters, Gladys Guenon, Blanche Carroll and Afton Jesson, and two grandsons, Kerry R. and Kelly J. Timothy.

Funeral services were conducted Monday, October 10, 1994 in the Garland, Utah LDS Tabernacle, with Bishop Rex Daniels officiating. Interment was in the Garland Cemetery.
