Durene Williams Roderick, (1929)

DURENE WILLIAMS RODERICK
Durene Williams Roderick, 71, former Malad resident, passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 13, 2000, at her home in Honeyville, Utah.

Our loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother was called home to be with her husband, Henry, who passed away Saturday, December 9, 2000.

We know that dad and mom went together to prepare a place for us as loving as the one they made here on earth.

She was born September 11, 1929, in Malad, Idaho, a daughter of Lavour and Berniece Leigh Williams. She was raised and educated in Malad.

Henry and Durene were married on May 26, 1946, and they solemnized their marriage in the Logan LDS Temple on June 19, 1965. Mom was always there for her husband and children. She received great joy in taking care and doing service for others.

She is survived by four sons: Gary (Geraldine) Roderick; Bary (Kathy) Roderick; Bruce (Sonja) Roderick, all of Portage, Utah; Dale (Betty) Roderick, Malad; four daughters: Trudy (Jim) Rock, Nibley, Utah; Doylene (Alan) Bourne, East Garland, Utah; Gayla (Travis) Clark, Portage; Tamra (Paul) Williams, Rangely, Colorado; 22 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; one brother, Doyle (Ardith) Williams, California, and a brother-in-law, Nate Wharton, Malad.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Daniel “Buster” Williams; a sister, Judy Wharton; and one granddaughter, Wendi Jo Roderick.

Funeral services were held on Monday, December 18, 2000. Burial was in the Portage Cemetery.

MOM
Mom, you gave us memories to treasure;
You made our house a home in fullest measure;
You taught us faith, and love without end,
You were our Mother, and also our friend.
Some day, again we will see you,
We love you so much more,
We never realized just how much,
Till you crossed through heavens door.
Your love will be felt forever,
For now, and again when we meet,
We’ll never be able to thank you enough,
Dear Mom; your memory is sweet.
