DOYLE NEWBOLD

DOWNEY – Doyle Newbold, 67, of Downey, and husband of Tonyja Jones Newbold, passed away on Monday June 27, 2005, at his home of natural causes. He was born January 6, 1938, in Salt Lake City, Utah, a son of Herald Moroni and Louise Bloxham Newbold. He was the youngest boy of ten children.

Doyle attended shool in Downey and Arimo. He married Tonyja Kay Jones (of Malad) in the Logan LDS Temple on April 3, 1959. He was a High Priest in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, had served in various callings through the years, and had loved every one of them.

He worked as the city maintenance supervisor for the city of Downey for 21 years. He then worked to Home Depot in Roy, Utah, at the Riverdale store for seven years, until his retirement. He and Tonyja then moved back to Downey. He had helped his father with Newbold Construction since he was old enough to hammer and then took over the business and ran it with his son, Herald G. Newbold.

Doyle loved to create woodcrafts for his wife and daughter to paint, and had made several crafts for various family members which they proudly displayed in their homes.

Doyle is survived by his wife, Tonyja of Downey; a daughter, Cheryl Ann Newbold of Boise; a son, Herald Glen Newbold of Downey; three brothers, Herald M. Jr. (Wilma) Newbold of Tooele, Utah; Paul (Loretta) Newbold of Chubbuck, Idaho; Boyd Newbold of Aurora, Colorado; and four sister Cleo (Alvie Odoms of Post Falls, Idaho; LaVora Christopherson of Wendell, Idaho; Kay Morse of Downey, Idaho, and Bardee (Jay)Tolman of Pocatello, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Richard Elmer and Henry Ford Newbold. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2005, at 12 noon in the Downey, Idaho LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call at Horsley’s Marsh Valley Funeral Home, 570 N. Meadowview Drive, in Arimo (Exit #40 N.B. I-15) Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. And on Thursday at the church from 10:30 – 11:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Downey City Cemetery.
