MOSER, DONALD GEORGE, June 28, 1925 – January 25, 2006

INKOM – Donald George Moser, 80, passed away at his home on January 25, 2006. He was born to Ernest and Mary (Tew) Moser in Daniels, Idaho, on June 28, 1925. His early years were spent in Daniels and St. John, where he attended school and began working.

Seeking better employment (as a teen), he moved to Inkom, then Pocatello, eventually becoming employed by Pacific Fruit Express, from which he retired in 1987, after 38 years of service.

While attending a barn dance he met Marie Chandler. They were soon married in Inkom on June 22, 1948, where they have since resided and reared their seven children.

Don was very active in the community and church, coaching Little league and church teams. He was a member of the National Ski Patrol and a charter member of the Inkom Lions Club.

As a high priest in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served many duties including Young Men’s, high priest group, stake mission president and temple ordinance worker for 18 years. Don and Marie served a mission at the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania mission in Tunkhannock in 1990-91.

Always the avid sportsman, he had many hobbies and touched many lives. He was an accomplished bowler, hunter and fisherman, and was very proud of his numerous local, state and world horseshoe pitching championships.

He is survived by his wife, Marie; children, Donald C. Pocatlelo, Juday (Jeff) Martin, Inkom, Penny (Mark) Bennett, Virginia, idaho; Ernie (Sue) Moser, Inkom, Terry (Temple) Moser, Boise, Kathy (Darren) Wilson, Scottsdale, Arizona, and Patsy (Nicki) Thurman, Chubbuck; 32 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; a sister Johanna Frotila, Louisiana; brothers, Billy, Chubbuck, Conley, Twin Falls; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter, siblings, Ernie; Leona, Ren, Grace, Lucille, Juanita, Reginald and three male infants.

Funeral services were held Monday, January 30, 2006 at the Inkom LDS Church on Rapid Creek Rd., with Bishop David Miles officiating. Burial was in Inkom Cemetery.
