Don Clabby

Bishop Don Clabby, 69, passed away Monday, Sept. 5, 1994 in Bountiful, Utah, of complications due to asthma. He was born Feb. 20, 1925, in Indian Valley, Idaho. The son of Robert Emmett and Genevieve Pearl Robertson Clabby. He married Lorraine Clark July 22, 1950, in Malad, Idaho. The marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple May 15, 1962.

Former bishop of the Cannon 9th Ward, he also served as a counselor for eight years prior to serving for nine years as bishop. He served also as the Young Men’s president and in the Elders’ Quorum presidency.

He liked to work outdoors and loved fishing. He worked for the Forest Service in Idaho early in his life. He served in World War II as a Marine, participating in the occupation of Japan.

Survivors include: His wife, Lorraine; daughters, Kaye (Paul) Ockey; Dana (Deland) Munson; grandchildren, Lisa Hunsaker; Alicia Lorraine Soto and Britton Don Soto; sisters, Marguerite (Charles) Brandenberry; Louise (Robert) Strait; Inez Smith; Barbara (Charles) Levie; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Anne Clabby; his parents; and two brothers, James Clabby and Edward Clabby.

Don loved his family and was a kind, loving, devoted husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 9. 1994 in Bountiful.
