Deloria Anita Price Williams, 79, wife, mother, grandma, sister and friend, passed away Saturday, February 28, 2009 at the Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah, due to complications of cancer, surrounded by her loving family.
Anita was born January 5, 1930 in Samaria, Idaho to Deloria Ann Peterson and Evan Morse Price. She was reared and educated in Samaria and graduated from Malad High School. She married her high school sweetheart, John (Jack) Leon Williams, March 12, 1951 in Samaria. The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple December 10, 1965. John L. passed away January 31, 1990.
She was a member of The church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in various positions in the auxiliaries.
She was a visiting teacher, a temple worker in the Logan Temple for many years, and served with her husband as dance directors, which they really loved. Anita and John L. could be found at every gold and green ball, square dance or anywhere there was a dance. She was an avid Utah Jazz fan and was on a bowling league. She also loved camping, reunions, crocheting and playing cards as well as playing on a ladies fast pitch softball team. She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed attending and supporting them in sports, dance or whatever they did. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her family at cookouts and many other family get-togethers.
She worked as a waitress for many years, delivered the Ogden Standard Examiner newspaper and retired from Thiokol.
She is survived by her three daughters: LeAnn Clark, Yvonne (Bob) Walton, and Deloria Williams. She was Grandma Tita to her six grandchildren: Wade (Jenny), Stephanie (Nate), Danielle, Shane (Kaylyn) Haylie (Mike_, and Blake (serving a mission in California, Arcadia), and xi great-grandchildren. Also surviving are one sister, Bernice Lewis, and ne brother, Merrill Dee Price.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four brothers: Theon, Platt, Hyrum and Ronald Price; six sisters: Clyta, Shari, Esther Mae, and an infant sister Price, Eulalia Peacock and Deltha Strong; one grandson, Mark John Branz; and one great-grandson, Jason Walton.
“Mom we love you. Thanks for all your loving support. You will always be with us in our hearts until we meet again. This is not goodbye, just so long.”
A funeral service will be held Friday, March 6, 11:00 a.m. at the Tremonton South Stake Center, 1150 South Tremont Street, Tremonton. Family and friends may call Thursday, March 5 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton, and Friday from 9:30-10:45 a.m. at the stake center. Interment will be at the Samaria, Idaho Cemetery.
