DEAN H. SMITH
FARMINGTON – Dean H. Smith, 73, on February 8, 2000 was reunited with his loving wife Ila Mae Thomas whom he married on June 8, 1948 in Malad, Idaho. He was born January 27, 1927 in Roy, Utah to Henry Giles and Dora Hadley Smith. Dean was raised and made his home in Farmington. He was a graduate of Davis High. He attended University of Utah for 2 years and played on the football team. Dean served in the U.S. Marine Corp. in World War II. He was approaching 54 years of dedicated and loyal employment at Lagoon Corporation. Dean also served in the volunteer Fire Dept. as Chief. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, horses, ranch-handing and farm work. He loved his family and friends and wouldn’t hesitate to give the shirt off his back to those in need. Preceded in death by his wife and parents.

He is survived by his son, Craig Dean (Bonnie) Smith and daughter Shauna Smith Usatorres, all of Farmington; three brothers, Glen (Merle) Smith of West Bountiful, Don (Arlene) Smith of Layton; Harry (Mary Alice) Smith of Canada; two sisters, Dorene Smith of Farmington, Joyce Barber of Kaysville, four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 12, 2000 at the Farmington Rock Chapel, 272 North Main. Friends may call Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main and again Saturday morning from 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment, Farmington City Cemetery.

He will be deeply missed!
