Dean Evans

EVANS, DEAN, September 24, 1927 – December 2, 1984

Dean Evans, 57, died December 2, 1984. He was a resident of the Gresham-Troutdale, Oregon area and was a former Southeast Idaho resident. He was born to Charles S. and Geneva Fern Jensen Evans on September 24, 1927 in Malad. He attended schools in Idaho.

During World War Ii he served in the Navy. After military service he attended Idaho State University and became an electrician.

On January 7, 1946 he married Leah Cappell in Pocatello. About 1967 the family moved to Oregon and settled in the Troutdale-Gresham area.

He enjoyed building furniture and model airplanes, creating programs for his computer and electronics.

He was a member of the LDS Church. Also, he was a member of the Electrical Union Local No. 48 of Portland.

Survivors include his wife, Troutdale; one son, Bryon, Troutdale; seven daughters: Donnetta Chastain, Troutdale; Deanna Ryan, Fairview, OR; Sherrie Conover, Oregon City, OR; Mary Ann Hedlund, Gresham; Vickie Blacksmith, Lanette Jenkins and Melody Kirkendall, all of Portland; two brothers, Charles S. Evans, Bountiful, UT; Edward S. Evans, Boise; five sisters, Lois Fenwick, Vera Briscoe and Leda King, all of Pocatello; Florence Brown, Inkom; June Whitworth, TX and 20 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held December 6 at the Gresham Stake Center of the LDS Church. Burial was in Williamette National Cemetery in Portland.
