David M. Roberts Passed Away Tues.

David M. Roberts, 69, a prominent Malad Valley farmer died suddenly at his home in Malad on Tuesday, February 9 [7, 1937]. Mr. Roberts was found dead in the yard shortly after complaining of pain due to over exertion in lifting, altho[sic] he had previously been in good health. Death was attributed to heart strain.

David Morgan Roberts was born in Malad on October 2, 1867, the son of David Giles Roberts and Mary Morgan Roberts. He grew up in the Malad valley and attended schools here. He was married to Miss Emma Aegerter[sic] of Montpelier on Oct. 4, 1906. To this union five children were born, four of whom survive: David F. Roberts, of Lewiston, Utah, T. Vernor[sic] Roberts and Mrs. Gladys Rose, of Malad. Mrs. Estella Glen, Pocatello.

He is also survived by two brothers, Thomas C. and John M. Roberts and one sister, Mrs. Margaret Jane Dalton.

Mr. Roberts has always been an active member of the L. D. S. Church and has served as ward teacher, secretary of the Elders Quorum, Counselor in M. I. A. and at the time of his death was a member of the High Priests.

Funeral services will be held at one o’clock on Saturday in the Malad Stake Tabernacle.
