Crowther, David – 20 Feb 1978

David Kelly Crowther, 17, passed away Tuesday, July 4, 1995, from injuries sustained in an
automobile accident. He was born on Feb. 20, 1978 in Plano, Texas, a son of Robert Gordan Crowther and Anne Corbridge.
David was a senior at Malad High School, and Malad Seminary. He participated in track, cross country, band, and Spanish club.
David was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was currently serving as First Assistant to the Bishop in his Priest Quorum in the Malad First Ward. He had recently enjoyed serving on the staff at the Sons of Helaman encampment. David was active in the Boy Scouts of America, where he attained the rank of an Eagle Scout and earned the Order of Arrow.
His love for basketball, the outdoors, friends, and service have filled our lives with many wonderful memories. We love and miss David very much!
David is survived by his parents: three sisters, Christine, Elizabeth, and Rebecca: and one brother Jeffery. Also surviving are his grandparents, Gordan and Betty Crowther of Malad; Anna Lee Corbridge Ashbrook of Soda Springs. He was proceeded in death by his Grandfather, Dale Kelly Corbridge.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 8, at 12 noon in the Malad LDS Stake Chapel, Bishop Michael Hess, officiating. Friends were able to call at the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home Friday July 7, from 7-9 p.m., and on Saturday at the Funeral Home from 10-10:45 a.m. Burial was in the Malad City Cemetery.

TEEN KILLED

Malad- One Malad area youth was killed and four were injured early Monday on the Arbon Valley Road about nine miles from its junction with State Highway 38. Idaho State Police Cpl. Jeff Semard said Jared M. Howe, 16, was driving on the road at about 1 a.m. when his vehicle went off it. Howe overcorrected, causing the vehicle to roll and ejecting himself and his three passengers from the car. David Crowther, 17, was taken by Life Flight helicopter to Bannock Regional medical Center where he was pronounced dead, Semrad said. Howe was taken first to the Oneida County Hospital, then to Bannock Regional and finally to LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City for surgery related to spinal injury.
Casey Winward, 17, is in good condition at the Oneida County Hospital. Clifton Thomas 17, and Clinton Thomas, 17 and Clint Edwards, age unavailable, were treated and released at Oneida County Hospital. Investigation continues.

David Crowther, 17, of Malad, died Tuesday, July 4, of injuries sustained in an auto rollover. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 8, at 12 noon in the Malad LDS 1st Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W. 300N. On Friday from 7-9 p.m. And on Saturday at the Funeral Home from 10-11:45 a.m. A complete obituary will appear in a later edition of the Idaho State Journal.
