David Gene Wright was born on September 11, 1946 in Blackfoot, Idaho at what used to be the Colonial Inn. He was born to Wilma Ruby Ellis and George H. Wright. Other siblings born to this union were; Carol Bishop, Wayne Wright & Larry Wright.

He attended school in the Blackfoot area and always had a job on the side, he loved to work. During Jr. High he excelled at football. After graduating from Blackfoot High School he served a sheet metal apprenticeship. He also took welding classes at ISU vo-tech. He won third place in a national sheet metal contest. Dave was a perfectionist. His true love was horseshoeing. He attended many clinics and tried to better himself. He was a Journeyman Farrier which was quite an accomplishment.

He met Sue Helmandollar on a blind date when he was a senior in high school. They were married on July 16, 1965 and were later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple. To this union was born; Jeffrey David Wright, Lori Ann Wilson and Brad H. Wright.

He became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved it with all his heart. He served diligently in many capacities in the church. He loved serving in the Idaho Falls and Pocatello Temples. Dave and Sue served a mission in 2014-2015 in Nauvoo Illinois.

Dave loved hunting, fishing, riding horses and being in the outdoors. But, his true love was his family, he has 7 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Dave passed away on October 25th. He was proceeded in death by his sister Carol Bishop and parents George and Wilma Wright.

A viewing will be held Friday Oct. 28th from 6-8 and Funeral proceedings will be Saturday Oct. 29 at 1:00 p.m. all services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints building located at 801 N. Rapid Creek Road Inkom, Idaho.
