Darrell David Thomas, (1930)

DARRELL DAVID THOMAS

Darrell David Thomas, 75, our beloved brother, uncle and friend returned to his Heavenly Father on March 25, 2005. He was a true “homebody”, and we are confident he was lovingly welcomed home by his family and friends who have previously passed on.

He was born in Malad, Idaho, January 30, 1930, the third child of Robert L. and Jaunita S. Thomas. He was educated in Malad and chose to remain at home to work with his father on the family farm. He loved the outdoors, enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding the hills on horseback. His heart was truly centered in the “Deep Creek Valley”.

He married Rula Jean Fuhriman in 1969, but they were later divorced. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Grant and Sam Thomas, and two stepsons, Kelly and Shane Fuhriman.

He is survived by brothers, William E. (Ruth) Thomas, Ronald LaMonte (Alice) Thomas; sister, Norma M. Thomas, all of Malad; sister, Lorraine Starkey, Nampa, Idaho; sister, Nola J (Bill) Coats, Battle Mountain, Nevada; sister-in-law Josie Thomas, Malad; and two step-children, Kathy (Kevin) Schwartz and Bart Fuhriman.

He was a generous, compassionate person and children always seemed to gravitate to him. He will be greatly missed.

Services were under the direction of Horsley Funeral Home in Malad. Services were held Wednesday, March 30, 12 o’clock noon at the Horsley Funeral Home. Burial was at Malad City Cemetery.
