Daniel S. Peabody Dies Tuesday

Funeral services for Daniel Simeon Peabody, 54, who died Tuesday, will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Malad LDS First Ward chapel with Bishop G. Howard Neal officiating.

Mr. Peabody had gone to his ranch at the head of Weston Creek Tuesday and when his brothers went to the ranch Wednesday morning to help him with some work they found the body lying near the truck where he had been unloading coal. The truck had been idling until it ran out of gas.

Investigation by Sheriff John A. Evans and Coroner Raiford Benson showed that Mr. Peabody had died of natural causes about 18 hours before the body was found.

Mr. Peabody was born here October 4, 1904, a son of Isaac and Alice K. Evans Peabody. Reared and educated here, he was a deacon in the LDS Church; a member of the Woodmen’s Lodge and a veteran of World War II. He never married.

Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Alice Peabody; four brothers, William, Arnold, Lester and Arthur, all of Malad; two sisters, Mrs. U. C. (Frances) Peabody, Thompson Falls, Mont.; Mrs. Earl (Ann) Cooper, Moreland.

Friends may call at the Benson Funeral Home Friday evening between the hours of six and nine and Saturday morning at the home of his mother, 735 N. 400 W.

Interment will be in the Malad City cemetery.
