TRACTOR MISHAP CLAIMS LIFE OF DAN TOVEY

Daniel L. Tovey, 73, Oneida County farmer, was killed March 11, 1976 when the tractor he was operating overturned on his farm at Cherry Creek.

Becoming worried when he didn’t return home at the usual time, Mrs. Tovey asked Moroni Ward and Varsel E. Christophersen to investigate. They went on the Tovey farm where they discovered the accident and Mr. Tovey’s body about 10 p.m.

He was using the tractor to clear a small area of sagebrush when the machine tipped over and he was pinned underneath.

He was born July 20, 1902 in Cherry Creek, a son of Morgan Francis and Martha Jane Evans Tovey.

He married Eunice Ward Sept. 2, 1926 in Ogden, Utah.

Mr. Tovey was a graduate of Malad High School and attended Utah State University.

Survivors include his widow, Malad; three daughters; Mrs. Harold C. (Norma) Connell, Annandale, VA; Miss Fern Tovey, Malad City; Mrs. Grant (Lois) Bethers, Los Altos, CA; and 11 grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held May 15, 1976 in the Malad Third LDS Ward Chapel with bishop Phil Gillies officiating. Burial will be in the Malad City Cemetery.
