DANIEL EVANS THOMAS DIED JAN. 8 IN SLC

Funeral services for Daniel Evans Thomas, 72, were conducted Saturday, Jan. 8, 1976 at the Malad First LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop Myron Jones officiating.

John E. Thomas offered the family prayer at the funeral home. At the chapel, Laurence Holbrook delivered the invocation and Ruth B. Thomas, the obituary. H. Ward Thomas gave the remarks and the speaker was President Myrthus W. Evans.

Rollin W. Thomas offered the benediction. Prelude and postlude music was provided by Mae E. Williams. Eldon Corbridge, Connie Budge and Lana Esplin sang vocal selections. Myra Jean John was the accompanist.

Concluding rites were held in the Malad City Cemetery, where Raiford G. Benson gave the dedicatory prayer.

Flowers were arranged by First Ward Relief Society, Elaine Mills, president. Military rites were provided by the American Legion, Ernest W. Jones Post No. 65.

Casket bearers were Clive Anderson, Hugh J. Williams, B.L. Thomas, Dale A. Evans, Lynn A. Evans and David Vanderwood.

Funeral arrangements were by Benson Funeral Home.

Mr. Thomas died January 8, 1976 in the Veterans Hospital, Salt Lake City, of a long illness.

He was born Feb. 28, 1903 in Malad, a son of Benjamin L. and Elizabeth Evans Thomas. He was never married.

Mr. Thomas was a farmer, member of the LDS Church, World War II veteran and a member of the American Legion, Ernest W. Jones Post No. 65, Malad.

Survivors include two brothers, William E. Thomas and John E. Thomas, both of Malad; several nieces and nephews.
