Dale J. Moon, 78, Malad, passed away Friday, Sept. 22, 1995, at his home in Henderson Creek of cancer.

He was born Oct. 1, 1916 in Henderson creek, a son of Joseph and Loise Moon. He lived and farmed there all of his life.

He was an active member of the LDS Church, where he served in two bishoprics for 21 years.

He enjoyed farming, his family, and working in the church. He worked in the Farm Bureau for many years where he served as president.

He married Alta Jones Aug. 19, 1936 in Ogden, Ut. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Brent Dale (Alicia), Fielding, Ut.; Dalene Bench (Varnell), Logan, Ut.; Sharon Williams (Terry), Pocatello; Cindy Redpath (Tal), Helena, Mont.; 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Reed, Cave Junction, Ore.

Funeral services will be conducted at noon, Tuesday, Sept. 26, at the 5th Ward Church, 20 S 100W, Malad with Bishop Craig Sperry conducting. The family will receive friends Monday evening at the Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W 300 N, from 6-8 p.m. And at the church from 10;30 to 11;30 a.m. Tuesday. Interment will be at the Malad Cemetery. The family wishes to especially thank Hospice and prefer donations be made to them.
