Clara Irene Anderson Cottle (Birth – August 17, 1905)

Clara Irene Anderson Cottle, 82, died Thursday, December 3, 1987, at her home, 1317 South 4th East, Trenton, Utah.

She was born August 17, 1905 in Union, Utah. She was the daughter of Charles Alfred and Alice Kemp Anderson. She married Leland T. Cottle, October 3, 1921 in Malad, Idaho. This marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple.

She had lived in Murray, Utah, Portage, Utah, and in Stone, Idaho until 1941, and in Trenton, Utah for the past 46 years. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers (The Margaret Ann Adams Benson Camp) and was active in the Utah Farm Bureau Ladies Auxiliary.

She was an active member of the LDS Church where she taught in the YWMIA, was President of the Relief Society and the Primary Organizations, and was a Choir Member. She received her Golden Gleaner Award.

She is survived by her husband of Trenton, Utah, 5 sons, Leland A. Cottle, Logan, Utah; Wallace A. Cottle, Clarkston, Utah; Melvin A. Cottle, Cardston, Canada; Steven A. Cottle, Malad, Idaho; Edward L. Cottle, Trenton, Utah; two foster sons, Herbert Frazier, Mexican Hat, Utah; Curtis Fraizer, Provo, Utah; three daughters, Mrs. Alva (Bea) Boman, Lewiston, Utah; Mrs. Boyd (Alice) Hulse, Blackfoot, Idaho; Mrs. Arol (Lea) Maughan, Wellsvile, Utah; 41 grandchildren, and 75 great-grandchildren, one sister, Charlotte Pope, San Diego, California. She was preceeded in death by one daughter, 5 Grandchildren, one Great-greatgrandchild, and two brothers.

Funeral Services were held on Monday, December 7, 1987 at 12 noon in the Trenton Ward Chapel with Bishop Mark L. Godfrey officiating. Burial was in the Trenton Cemetery.
