Chauncey L. Sorenson died Sun., funeral Thurs.

Chauncey L. Sorenson, age 84, of Ogden and formerly of Malad, died Sunday, Aug 29, of natural causes in the St. Benedict’s Hospital, Ogden.

He was born April 17, 1892 in Mendon, Utah, a son of Jacob Fredrick and Susan Hancock Sorenson.

He married Josephine Gardner July 20, 1911 in Mendon, Utah; the marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple.

He was a flour miller in Malad City; moved to Ogden in 1952; and was an active member of the LDS Church.

Survivors include his widow, Ogden Utah; two sons and four daughters: Fred A. Sorenson, Salt Lake City; Leon G. Sorenson, Kaysville, Utah; Mrs. Ariel (Anita) Jones, Malad City; Mrs. Dale (Bobbie) Christensen, Ogden, Utah; Mrs. A. G. (Leyonda) DeLacy, Post Falls, Idaho; Mrs. Dan (Mary Sue) Evans, Las Vegas, Nev.

Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild; and one brother, Claud Sorenson, Hyrum, Utah.

Funeral service will be held Thursday at noon in the Malad Fourth LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop Darrell Swartz officiating.

Friends may call Benson Funeral Home Thursday before service.

Burial will be in the Mendon, Utah, cemetery.
