Charles W. Stoddard dies Friday

Charles Warren Stoddard, 70, West Point, died Friday, Aug 22, at his home of natural causes.

He was born May 9, 1910, in West Point, a son of George Franklin and Cynthia P. Hardy
Stoddard.

He married Eloise Grue June 25, 1930, in Ogden. The marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple on Aug. 31, 1932. He was a member of the West Point 3rd Ward, had worked as well-driller, as a farmer and sheep rancher. He homesteaded Carrington Island in the Great Salt Lake.

Survivors include his widow of West Point; two sons and five daughters: Warner F. Stoddard, Honeyville; Gordon J. Stoddard, Diane Kapetanav(sic), both of Roy; Mrs. Max (Charlene) Buchmiller(sic), Orangevale, California; Morlene(sic) Stoddard, West Point.

Also; a brother and five sisters: Frank Stoddard, West Point; Mrs. Verna Porter, Huntington Beach, Calif.; Mrs. Don (May) Schofield, Roy; Mrs. Wayne (Peggy) Wakely, Malad; Mrs. Leonard (Dora) Ford, Sunset; Mrs. Ann Olson, Ogden; 20 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services were held Tuesday, Aug. 26 in West Point 3rd Ward Chapel with Bishop Roald(sic) E. Peterson officiating. Interment was in the Hooper Cemetery.
