Catherine D. Stayner, 84, died in Bountiful
Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Malad Second LDS Ward for Mrs. Katherine Daniels Stayner, 84, who died Friday in a Bountiful, Utah hospital of a heart attack.
Mrs. Stayner was born Sept. 10, 1892 at Malad, a daughter of Daniel M. and Katherine Owens Daniels.
She was married to Steven Stayner on Oct. 14, 1912 at Ogden and their marriage was solemnized in 1965 at the Logan LDS Temple.
An active member of the LDS Church, Mrs. Stayner served as Primary Stake Board member and Relief Society teacher. She was past president of the American Legion Auxiliary and of the American War Mothers.
Survivors include her husband of Malad; a son and a daughter, Owen D. Stayner, Long Beach, Calif., Mrs. Stewart (Donna) England, Bountiful; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren, a brother and three sisters, Russel O. Daniels, Malad, Mrs. Ted (Lenna) Hone, Ogden, Utah, Mrs. David (Lona) Bush, Boise, and Mrs. Arnold (Pearl) Thomas, Downey, Calif.
Service
Bishop Wesley Crowther officiated at the service with Dale Daniels offering the family prayer at the Benson Funeral Home.
At the Chapel, prelude and postlude music was played by Myra Jean John who was also accompanist for the two vocal duets by Carol Daniels and Connie Budge. Obituary and remarks were given by Bishop Gordon Crowther and the speaker was President Myron P. Sorensen. Invocation was offered by Bishop Richard Danley and the benediction by Rex Daniels.
Dedicatory prayer at the Malad City Cemetery was given by Raiford G. Benson.
Flowers were carried by the Second Ward Relief Society, Glenda Jenson, president, and the casket bearers were Joe Daniels, Farrell Daniels, Dale Daniels, Clair Bush, Scott Stayner, Lyle Hess.
Benson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
