Carlos D. Jones, 96, 656 S. Eighth Ave., died Thursday morning, March 17, 1994 in a local health care facility.

He was born November 27, 1897, in Malad, Idaho to Daniel Roberts and LaVita Daniels Jones. He graduated from Malad High School. He served in the United States Navy during World War II.

He married Myrtle Hawkley November 26, 1920, at Salt Lake City, Utah. She preceded him in death October 30, 1960.

He was employed with the United State Postal Service for 48 years, retiring in 1967 as assistant postmaster. He enjoyed reading. He was a member of the Pocatello LDS Princeton Ward. During his lifetime he was a member of the Golden Age Kiwanis, BPO Elks No. 674, American Legion and American Association of Retired Persons.

He is survived by a daughter, Dorothy Jones of Pocatello; a daughter-in-law, Frances Jones Allen of Palm Desert, California.; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death besides his wife by his parents and a son Carlos Jones.

Graveside services will be conducted at noon on Saturday, March 19, 1994, in Restlawn Memorial Gardens, with Bishop Richard Broberg of the Pocatello LDS Princeton Ward officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. Saturday in the Henderson Funeral Home, 431 N. 15th Ave. Memorials may be given to the Idaho State University Foundation, P.O.
