CHARLOTTE O. JONES

Funeral services were held Monday (1959) at the St. John LDS ward chapel for Mrs. Charlotte Owens Jones, 84, who died Thursday in Salt Lake City after a long illness.

Bishop N. Melvin Yearsley officiated at the services. Family prayer at the home was offered by Espy Thomas; invocation, Weldon Jensen; benediction, John Blaisdell; dedicatory prayer, D. LeRoy Thomas. Speakers were Bishop Yearsley, who also gave the obituary; Dr. Thomas W. Richards and Joseph Isaacson . Musical numbers consisted of prelude and postlude, Mrs. Mary Jensen; vocal solo, Blair Gleed; violin solo, Mrs. Fern Willie; musical number, group from St. John. Casket bearers were Venal Jones, Robert K. Jones, Gerald Ray Ripley, David O. Jones, Gary Jones and Allan Kentch.

Mrs. Jones was born October 12, 1871, in Malad, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John T. Owens. She married David S. Jones in Malad on Dec. 25, 1890. He died in 1931.

She was an active member of the Relief Society of the LDS Eighteenth Ward in Salt Lake and of the Violet Kimball Chapter, Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.

Three sons and one daughter survive her. They are: John Owen Jones of Malad; Daniel O. Jones Malad; David S. Jones, Logan, and Mrs. Kenneth Ray Ripley, Salt Lake. She has one sister, Mrs. Kathryn Daniels, Malad.

There are 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
