Bobby Dee John

Bobby Dee John, 26 July 1944

NORTH OGDEN – I’m soaring now, like the great eagle in the sky. I see my family down below – I love them so!

Bobby Dee John, aka, Bob, BJ and Robert passed away October 17, 2003 due to an aortic dissection aneurysm. Bob was born July 26, 1944 in Malad, ID to Jessie Archibald and David John.

He joined the Air Force in 1969 and did a tour at Reislip AFB, England before being honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant. Most of his civilian working career was at Hill AFB as an engineer in several different disciplines. He was literally a “Jack of all Trades” with the many skills he possessed.

He also was probably the guy with the most toys and not enough time to play with them all. Bob loved to go boating, fishing, water and snow skiing, but most of all he loved being with his long awaited grandchildren. When he and his family went fishing, it was usually at his second favorite place this side of the Rockies. He and his family built a second home there in Island Park, ID overlooking one of the best fishing holes in the country – Henry’s Lake. Bob and his family spent many fishing hours on several of the lakes in that area. His only regret was that he didn’t get to tour many more of the wondrous places of his dreams. Maybe it was ironic and fitting that he just “buttoned” up the cabin for its long winters nap only the weekend before his death.

Bob is survived by his very loving family: his wife, Kathy of 36 years; his sons Todd (Tara) John, Anthony (Jamie) John, three beautiful grandchildren – Rylee, Boston and Avery; his mother, Jessie John; his brothers, Leroy John and Gerald John and a sister, Connie Labusewycz.

A memorial service will be held October 21, 2003 at Myers Mortuary, Ogden. Interment, Samaria Cemetery, Samaria, ID.
