Blanche Lykins Hull

Funeral services were held March 15, 2003 in Missoula, MT for Blanche Lykins Hull, who died in her home there on March 7, 2003.

Blanche was born in St. John on October 20, 1917, the first child of the late James V. and Mary Lykins who owned and operated a country general store there for many years. Blanche graduated from Malad High School, went one year to Santa Rosa California Jr. College and then graduated from Albion State Normal School, where she received her teacher’s certificate. She later received her B.A. from Montana State University in Missoula. She married Richard J. Hull in Salmon, ID in March, 1939 and taught school in both Idaho and Montana for over forty-five years.

Blanche was a life long member of the Presbyterian church both in Malad where she was baptized, and in Montana.

Blanche was preceded in death by her husband, Dick, her parents, one sister, Louise, and two brothers, J. Val Lykins and James D. Lykins. She is survived by one son, Rick Hull (Johanna) of Gary, Indiana; a daughter, Diane McGuire (Paul) of Seattle, WA; and three grandchildren, Clyde Hull of Rochester, NY; Dylan and Shannon McGuire of Seattle, WA. Also surviving is one sister, Maxey L. Clark of San Leandro, CA, and sisters-in-law, Cathy and Zola Lykins of Ogden, Utah.
