SERVICES MONDAY FOR FORMER SAMARIA WOMAN

Funeral services were held Monday at the Samaria L.D.S. Chapel for Miss Beth Price, 64, Phoenix, Arizona who died Dec. 15th of a cerebral hemorrhage.

Bishop Carl A. Evans officiated at the services.

At the services, a letter received from Miss Price’s bishop, Wallace Stowell, Phoenix, was read by Bishop Evans who also offered the family prayer. Prelude and postlude music was played by Jessie John and musical numbers consisted of vocal solos, Louis Yearsley, Helen Jones and Jenkin Palmer; vocal duet, Eldon Corbridge and Mollie Hyer. Accompanist was Myra Jean John. Invocation was offered by John Roderick and the benediction by Llwellyn Williams.

Flowers were carried by relatives under the direction of the Relief Society. Casket bearers were Wm. D. Hawkins, Wm. D. Thorpe, Rulon Peterson, Keith Hawkins, Grant Thorpe and Frank Evans.

Miss Price was born July 28, 1895 in Samaria, a daughter of Wm. D. and Mary Ann Daniels Price. Educated in Samaria and Salt Lake City, she was active in L.D.S. Church work all of her life. While in Salt Lake City she was a Sunday school teacher working with the late apostle Mathew Cowley. In Cleveland she was branch president of the Relief Society as well as a teacher in Sunday school and Mutual while at Phoenix where she belonged to several clubs. Miss Price worked 39 years for the Walgreen Drug Agency, serving as a bookkeeper, auditor and office manager of various pharmacies.

Surviving are three sisters; Mrs. Wilford (Hannah) Thorpe, Santa Monica, Calif.; Mrs. Thomas (Jane) Hawkins and Mrs. I. W. (Gwen) Jenkins, Ogden.
