Bertha Ethel Roderick Howard passed away January 8, 1997. She was born May 25, 1904 to John P. and Ethel Mary John Roderick in Pleasantview, Idaho.
She graduated from Malad High School and attended BY Academy in Logan.
She married her eternal companion, Donald J. Howard March 14, 1928. He died in 1961.
She lived in the Malad area until 1935 and in Bountiful for remaining years.
Bertha’s life was one of service to her Heavenly Father and her family. She served an LDS mission to California 1926-1927, and was active in leadership and teaching positions in the LDS Church as long as she was able.
She was a sweet, intelligent, quiet lady who lived her life with purpose and dignity.
She is survived by one brother, John Roderick (Mary Emma) of Malad, Idaho; Three sons, Donald (Geri), Roderick (Pat), DeeLynn (Pam) Howard; two daughters Ethel (Harris) Adams; Thella (Alan) Weaver, one daughter Lois and her sister Ruth Hays, preceded her. She has 20 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces who were dear to her.
The family wishes to thank those at Rocky Mt. Care Center who cared for their mother.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 11, 1997 at 12 Noon at the Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, where friends may call from 10:45-11:45 a.m. prior to services.
Interment: Bountiful City Cemetery.
