Bert Eliason, Sr., 77, died July 14, 1965 in a Salt Lake City hospital. He was born October 19, 1887 at Stone, Oneida County, the son of August and Emma Anderson Eliason. A life-long resident of Oneida County, he was educated in Stone.

He married Anna Daniels in 1908 at Stone. She died in 1951. He then married Sophie Jones on February 16, 1954 at Las Vegas, NV, and since that time he has lived in Malad.

Mr. Eliason was well known in cattlemen’s circles in Southern Idaho and Utah, and was active in state and national cattlemen’s associations. He was a member of the LDS Church and he served as an Oneida County Commissioner for several years.

Survivors include his wife of Malad; two sons and one daughter, Bert Eliason, Jr., Downey; Dee Eliason, Stone, and Mrs. Corey (Gertrude) Cherrstrom, San Marino, CA; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and a brother, Chester Eliason, Holbrook.
