Bernard Howard Gardner

GARDNER, BERNARD H., December 10, 1929 – December 22, 1975

Funeral services for Bernard Howard Gardner, 45, who died in the Oneida County Hospital following a lengthy illness, were held at the Benson Funeral Home.

Mr. Gardner was born Dec. 10, 1929 at San Jose, CA, a son of Charles Bryan and Ada May Bertschi Gardner. He married Betty Kay Davis, Feb. 2, 1936 at Las Vegas, NV.

A well driller, Mr. Gardner was a member of the Presbyterian Church. He was a graduate of Malad High School and attended Utah State University. He was in the U.S. Navy Reserve.

Survivors include his widow, Malad; two sons, Jason C. Gardner, Pocatello and Cole J. Gardner, Malad; his mother, Malad, and a sister, Mrs. Gene (May) Halliburton, Hayward, CA.

Bishop Donald S. Vaughan officiated at the Benson Funeral Home service with Rev. S. Norman Naugler offering the family prayer.

Loyd Radford delivered the obituary and remarks. Speakers were Eldon Corbridge and Bishop Merlin Bastian. Paul H. Mills gave the invocation and Bishop Vaughan delivered the benediction. Prelude and postlude music was provided by Iris Blaisdell; Foster and Kathy Ipsen sang vocal selections.

Concluding rites were held at the Malad City Cemetery where Joseph May offered the dedicatory prayer.

The Acacia Chapter No. 69, Order of Eastern Star; and friends were in charge of the flower arrangements. Military rites and the Honor guard were presented by the American Lego=ion, Ernest W. Jones Post. No. 65.

Casket bearers were Jason C. Gardner, Cole J. Gardner, Robert Hobson, William Willie, Ted Bowen, Danny Williams, Paul Mills and Kenneth Blaisdell.
