GIBBS, AZELLA ESTER MORRIS

Azella Ester Morris Gibbs, 86, Portage, died August 13, 1986 at Pioneer Memorial Nursing Home in Brigham City, UT of causes incident to age.

She was born August 15, 1899 in Portage, a daughter of David William and Susannah Green Morris. She married David Parkinson Gibbs December 10, 1919 in the Logan LDS Temple. He died October 14, 1984.

She spent her life in Portage until 1980 when she moved to Perry, Utah to live with her children. She was a member of the LDS Church, twice serving as Relief Society president. She also served as primary president, taught MIA, was a visiting teacher, and was ward organist for fifteen years.

She is survived by three sons and two daughters, Donald J. Gibbs, Clearfield, UT; Gale M. Gibbs, Sparks, NV; Noel D. Gibbs, Seattle, WA; Mrs. Doris Nelson, Mantua, UT; Mrs. Robert (Jane) Denny, Spokane, WA; 23 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren; two brothers, Glen Morris and Joseph C. Morris, both of Portage; three sisters, Mrs. Vareen John, Malad; Mrs. Leah Merrill, Idaho Falls; and Mrs. LaVonna lamb, Plymouth.

Funeral services were held August 18 in the Portage Ward Chapel with Larry L. Howe officiating. Interment was in the Portage Cemetery.
