HOLBROOK – Arvilla Housley Rawlins, 77, Holbrook, died Tuesday [January 31, 1984] in Bancroft at the home of a daughter.

She was born Sept. 20, 1906, in Paradise, Utah, to Benjamin and Clarissa Paulina Allen Housley. She grew up in Paradise and in the Mapleton area near Preston. She later lived in Cornish and Richmond, Utah. She attended North Cache High School.

She married Horace Burbank Rawlins Sept. 20, 1928, in the Logan LDS Temple. After their marriage, she lived in Lewiston, Utah, for several years. She also lived in Washington state and Cove, Utah, moving to Holbrook 10 years ago.

She was active in all the organizations of the LDS Church. She and her husband served a mission in England from 1973-75. She was Primary president and worked in the genealogy library in Logan. She also enjoyed handiwork.

Survivors include her husband, Holbrook; three daughters, Mrs. Lee (Melna) Coleman, Manila, Utah; Mrs. Aaron (Erma) Hill, Holbrook; Mrs. Melvin (Cora) Hollingsworth, Bancroft; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Calvin Housley and Glenn Housley, both of Richmond, Utah; and a sister, Mrs. Clarissa Talbot, Lewiston, Utah. She was preceded in death by two sons, two daughters, and six brothers and sisters.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Holbrook LDS Ward chapel with Bishop Dallen Nalder officiating. Burial was in the Holbrook Cemetery.
