Arlis Jensen Sweeten, (1934)

SWEETEN, ARLIS JENSEN, December 22, 1934 – February 12, 2006

Arlis Jensen Sweeten, 71, of Malad, Idaho, died Sunday, February 12, 2006 in Bountiful, Utah. After a courageous fight with pancreatic cancer, she passed surrounded by loved ones.

She was born December 22, 1934 in Malad, Idaho, a daughter of Royal B. and Maude Yearsley Jensen. She received her education in Malad and graduated from Malad High School where was a cheerleader and involved in many student activities.

She was married on June 24, 1953 in the Logan LDS Temple to her school sweetheart, Cecil C. Sweeten of Malad, Idaho.

She was a hairdresser for over 40 years in each of the communities she lived in. She was an active member of the LDS Church and served in many callings. She was a perfectionist in everything she did. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Cecil C. Sweeten; daughter Wendy (Darrell) Peck; sons Ken (Phyllis) Sweeten, Todd (Ruth) Sweeten, Darin Sweeten, Lance (Tiffany) Sweeten; also 17 grandchildren. She is also survived by her mother; brothers: Larry, Stanley and Stewart Jensen; sisters: Melba Hill and Sheila Capener.

She ws preceded in death by her father and brother, Royal Duane.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 20, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at the Malad 7th Ward Chapel. Family and friends may attend a viewing Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Horsley Funeral Home in Malad and an additional viewing at the Horsley Funeral Home on Monday from 11:00 – 12:30 prior to services. Interment will take place at Malad City Cemetery.
