DOWNEY — Archie Francis Ted Parris, 76, Downey, died Sunday morning at Oneida County Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.

He was born Dec. 9, 1907, in the Marsh Center area, to Lebo Francis and Mary Ellen Wike[sic] Parris. He lived for 20 years in Marsh Center and received his education there.

On Sept. 8, 1928, he married Norma Lee Denton in American Falls. The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple.

After his marriage, he lived in Downey. He worked for Pacific Fruit Express in Pocatello for 20 years, retiring in 1971.

He enjoyed raising and working with horses. He was a member of the LDS Church and served as an elder in the Downey Second Ward.

Survivors include his wife, Downey; seven sons, Howard Glen Parris, Cottonwood, Ariz.[sic], Archie Edward Parris and Kile[sic] Lee Parris, both of Orfino[sic]; Lyle Kenneth Parris, Clearfield, Utah; William Lebo Parris and Thomas Jerry Parris, both of Pocatello; Ronald Dee Parris, Ogden. Utah; two daughters, Mrs. John D. (Opal) Kingston, Plymouth, Utah; Mrs. Russell J. (Joylene[sic]) Hyde, Downey; 22 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Raymond Dewey Parris, Salt Lake City, and a sister, Mrs. Lawrence (Verna) Cottrell, Mackay. He was preceded in death by a sister and eight brothers.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Downey Second Ward with Bishop Karl McQuivey[sic] officiating. Friends may call at Marsh Valley Funeral Home in Arimo Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. and at the church in Downey prior to the services. Burial will be in Marsh Center Cemetery.
