KENT, ANNE JOYCE, February 2, 1930 – March 29, 2008

Anne Joyce Kent, 78, passed away Saturday, march 29, 2008 in Malad. She was born in Venus, California on February 2, 1930, a daughter of Albert and Vonda Fifield.

She attended schools in Malad and was a graduate of Malad High School. Following graduation, she moved to California, where she met Gerald Matheson. They were married in September of 1957 and were later sealed in the LDS Temple.

She was a child care giver and a housewife. In 1982 they moved back to Malad for Joyce to care for her mother. Gerald had become ill on their trip back and passed away. Joyce continued to care for her mother until her death. She met and married Dawn Kent in the summer of 1989. They lived in Malad until 1994 and then moved to Downey. Following Dawn’s death in 1995, Joyce returned to Malad where she had since resided. Due to ill health, Joyce entered the Oneida County Long Term Care Center.

Joyce loved Lawrence Welk music, fishing with her husband, Dawn, and visiting with her friends. She always looked forward to cards and letters from her family.

She is survived by sisters: Lola (Dwight) Stapley, Kaye (Clyde) Westwood; Mary Lynn Forsyth; Sue (David) Acosta; Nora Fifield and Theda Fink; brothers: John (Judy) Fifield and Bill (Jan) Fifield.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Gerald and Dawn; brothers: DeLaun, Richard, Jack Harris and Stan Harris; sister, Helen Thomas.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday in the Horsley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Ogden City Cemetery.
