Anna Simmons dies Friday

Anna Rebecca Purser Bosworth Simmons, 88, died Friday at the Oneida County Hospital. She was born Nov. 23, 1892, at Hyde Park, Utah to John and Sarah Jane Kirk Purser.

She married James Walter Bosworth Oct. 11, 1916, in Logan, Utah. The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple. He died July 10, 1946. She married Thomas Simmons in 1960 in Pocatello. He died in October, 1968.

She moved from Preston in 1952 to Idaho Falls where she lived until 1974. She served as the president of the Golden Age Club of Idaho Falls. She was active in the LDS Church in Primary and Relief Society.

She is survived by three sons: LaVar Bosworth, Idaho Falls; Don Bosworth, Downey, and Purser Bosworth, Nampa; 17 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; four brothers: Newell Purser, Richmond, Utah; Lyman A. Purser, Preston; Melvin Purser, Hyde Park, Utah and Arthur Purser, Kennewick, Wash., and two sisters: Leona Winger, Salt Lake City, and Jessie Burgess, Rigby.

Funeral services were held Monday in the Preston First Ward LDS Chapel under the direction of Bishop Nathan R. Hale.

Burial was in the Preston Cemetery.
