
FARR, ANNA BETH, November 1, 1930 – August 14, 2004
Anna Beth Farr, 73, died August 14, 2004. She was born November 1, 1930 in Milton, Utah to Jeanette Mecham Wade and George Wade. She spent her early childhood in Milton and Stone, Idaho, and her later childhood in Ogden, Utah. She briefly attended Utah State Agricultural College following high school and married John R. Farr on March 17, 1949. She left college after being married and worked to support her husband as he completed undergraduate studies and medical school at the University of Utah. She moved to Long Beach, California in 1957 and lived in Dana Point, California from 1963 until her death.
Anna Beth was very active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, working with scouting, primary, church historical research and the Stake Relief Society Presidency, as well as well as serving as the Bishop’s secretary. Along with her family, the church was the most important thing to Anna Beth, providing a spiritual and social foundation throughout her life.
During Anna Beth’s school years, she enjoyed participating in school plays and various social activities. Later in life, her favorite pastimes included skiing, gardening, traveling and reading. She generally preferred English authors, and loved the poetry of Byron Keats and Shelley. She was always happiest when surrounded by her family, especially her numerous grandchildren.
Anna Beth was preceded in death by her parents, Jeanette Mecham Wade and George Wade; her husband, Dr. John R. Farr, her brother Dean Wade and her granddaughter, Anna Patterson.
She is survived by her sister Shirley Rhine; brothers, Blaine Wade and Robert Wade; daughters Lisa Brown and Kristina Patterson; sons John Farr, Mike Farr and Eric Farr; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A graveside service will be held at the Ogden City Cemetery on August 23.
