ANDREW REID
SERVICES HELD FOR FORMER MALAD RESIDENT
Funeral services are being conducted Thursday morning in Salt Lake City for Andrew Reid, 66, who died at his Salt Lake City home Friday morning [November 15, 1963] of a heart ailment. Following services in Salt Lake City, graveside services and burial will be conducted at the Malad City Cemetery.
Mr. Reid was born April 22, 1897, a son of William and Elizabeth Reid. He married Pearl Jones in June, 1921, at Malad. She died October 14, 1936. He married Mary Welch Cleveland and they were later divorced. He was the owner and operator of Reid’s Nursing Home and a former employee of Utah Copper Co., from 1925 to 1944. A former Sandy resident for 12 years, he was also a member of Veterans of World War I, Assembly of God, Pentacostal Church, Disabled American Veterans, and the Utah and American Nursing Home Associations.
Survivors include a son and a daughter, Andy V. and Mrs. Keith (Darhl) Kemp. Salt Lake City; seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild; stepson, Richard Cleveland, Salt Lake City; brother, sisters, Robert, Redondo Beach, Calif.; Mrs. Grace Bragger, Willard, Utah; Mrs. Nan Yagley, Los Angeles.
