ARLENE BURNETT DIES APRIL 20
Amanda Arlene Burnett, 83, of Orem, Utah, died Friday, April 20, at the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo of heart failure. She was born to Melvin and Mary Sweeten Atkinson on December 12, 1900, in Mendon, Utah. She was raised in Holbrook, Idaho, and attended school there. She graduated from Davis High School in Kaysville, Utah.
On January 4, 1922, she married James Lot Ashcroft. He died September 4, 1922. On September 2, 1929, she married Arthur Joseph Burnett.
She was a member of the LDS Church and served in the Provo Temple since 1971. She served on two LDS mission; in California from 1926 to 1928, and in Florida with her husband from 1970 to 1971. She was ward organist, president of the Primary and Relief Society organizations, and taught in various auxiliaries.
Early in her married life she lived in Ogden and then in 1939 she moved to Bell California. After retirement in 1967 she moved to Orem.
Surviving are her husband of Orem, and four sons, Jay W. Burnett, Bell California; M. Dallas Burnett, Orem, Utah; A. Boyd Burnett, Brea, California and R. Curtis Burnett, Sandy, Utah; 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; one sister Fern A. Willie, Malad, Idaho.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Melvin Atkinson.
Funeral services were held in Orem Tuesday, April 24. Burial was in the Aultorest Memorial Park in Ogden, Utah.
