Alvin Morse Camp

Alvin Morse Camp (Birth – Dec. 13, 1887)

Alvin Morse Camp, age 76, died Tuesday (May 5, 1964) at 6:35 p.m. in the Oneida Hospital after a long illness.

He was born December 13, 1887 at Pleasant View, Idaho, a son of William Peter and Anne Morse Camp.

He married Ethel Williams December 13, 1911, in the Logan Temple. She died March 14, 1914.

He married Margaret Pierce February 28, 1917 in the Salt Lake Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Mr. Camp received his education in Pleasant View and Logan schools and was an active member of the L.D.S. Church. He served as Sunday School superintendent in the St. John Ward; M.I.A. President and Ward teacher in the St. John Ward.

The Camps lived at St. John after their marriage and came to Malad 20 years ago.

Survivors are his widow, Malad; two sons and five daughters; Alvin Marion Camp, Salem Oregon; William Peter Camp, U. S. Navy, Harbor City, Calif.; Mrs. Clair (Anne) Christoffersen, Pocatello; Mrs. Jerry (Neith) Mabes, Lomita City, Calif.; Mrs. Ray W. (LaRue) Jones, Idaho Falls; Mrs. Edmond (Carma) Morgan, Jr., Moscow, Idaho; Mrs. Dale (Melba) Hedstrom, Las Vegas, Nev.; 26 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; four sisters: Mrs. Margaret Peterson and Mrs. William (Dessie) Moon, both Malad; Mrs. Millie Hunsaker, Brigham City; Mrs. Emma Hunsaker, Delta, Utah.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in the Malad Second L.D.S. Ward Chapel with Bishop Max King officiating. Friends may call at the Benson Funeral Home Friday evening and Saturday prior to the services.

Burial will be in the St. John Cemetery directed by Benson Funeral Home.
