Agnes Williams Gleed

GLEED, AGNES WILLIAMS, April 19, 1896 – March 5, 1964

Funeral services for Mrs. Agnes Williams Gleed, 67, will be held at the Malad Stake building with Bishop J.A. Servoss officiating. Family prayer at the home was by Bishop J. Guy Gleed. At the services at the chapel, the speakers were Bishop Servoss, who gave the obituary, Dr. Thomas W. Richards and Ralph W. Harding. The invocation was by Errol Williams and the benediction by Bishop Ludwig Nielsen. Musical numbers were vocal duet, Norma Gleed and June Crowther; violin solo, Mrs. Fern Willie, vocal solo, Jenkin L. Palmer. The organ prelude and postlude music was by Myra Jean John, who was also accompanist.

The concluding rites were at the Malad City Cemetery with Raiford G. Benson offering the dedicatory prayer.

Honorary casket bearers were France Heiner and Phil Wheeler. Casket bearers were Gary Williams, Gordon Williams, Lynn Ray Williams, Jerry Bodily, Lonny Gleed, Brent Bodily.

Mrs. Gleed was born to Edwin and Lucy Emma Green Williams April 19, 1896 at Henderson Creek, ID. She attended school there and was later married to Wilford Gleed in Malad, January 20, 1915. The marriage was solemnized in the Logan Temple. She was a member of the LDS Church and held many positions in the Church.

Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Chris (Merle) Ladner and Mrs. LeRoy (Elsie) Williams of Ogden; Mrs. Jay (Alene) Bodily, Syracuse, UT; one son, Ralph, Malad; five brothers, Ben, Harold and Ferrell Williams, of Malad; W.G. (Bill) Williams, Bear River City, UT; John Williams, Pocatello; four sisters, Mrs. Ella Richardson, Malad; Mrs. Sarah Shaffer, Ogden; Mrs. Bill Evans, Cedar Glen, CA; Mrs. John Treasure, Downey; ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
