Service held Monday, Feb. 7, 1983 in the Downey LDS 1st Ward Chapel with Bishop Willis Barfuss officiating.

Family prayer was offered by Bruce Thompson; prelude and postlude played by Laura Godfrey; invocation by Ethan Thompson; Life Sketch by Colleen Baker; an organ medley played by Merna Criddle; Bishop Thayne Thompson was the speaker and Bishop Willis Barfuss offering remarks. A vocal trio was sung by Mary Christensen, Muriel Carlson and Margaret Boam and a vocal quartet sung by Kenneth Williams, Dale Davis, Tyndal Evans and harry Alsop. They were accompanied by Jeannine Davis. The benediction was given by Clive Anderson.

At the Downey City Cemetery, the dedicatory prayer was given by T.Y. Criddle. Casket bearers were Ruel Thompson, Ryan Thompson, Farrell Romriell, Rod Thompson, Tom Thompson and Curt Morrison.

Mr. Thompson passed away in the Pocatello Regional Medical Center. He was born to William O. and Nancy Abi Lawrence Thompson on January 10, 1902 in Virginia. He attended schools in Cambridge, Downey and Richmond, Utah.

On Sept. 4, 1929 he married Deana Stoddard in the Salt lake City LDS Temple. They lived in Cambridge for 26 years, in Virginia for 15 years and then Mr. Thompson spent the remainder of his life in Downey.

He was a county road overseer and a farmer. He was active in the LDS Church and served a mission to Australia. He was a ward teacher, dance director in the MIA and Sunday School counselor and superintendent.

Survivors include his wife, Downey, a son, Adna Bruce Thompson, McCammon; a son, Tracy Lawrence Thompson, Los Angeles; three daughters, Bebe Gail Perody, Reno, NV; Von Dee Merritt, Suisun, CA; and Becci Lu Carmack, Meridian; 21 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; four sisters, Leona Scott, Reding, CA; Ramona Morris, Pocatello; Fern Hartvigsen, Downey and Gaile Criddle, Pocatello.
