Louis Reese

SALT LAKE CITY – Louis Reese, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, passed away July 14, 1998, in Salt Lake City. He was born in Rock Springs, Wyoming to Gomer and Janette Sneddon Reese on May 12, 1912.
He attended college at the University of Wyoming and the University of Utah. He met Marion Chees-man Reese, his wife of nearly 62 years, in a calculus class at the University of Utah, where he graduated with a degree in Mining Engineering. They were married September 4, 1936, in Colorado. Together they worked and lived in Littleton, New Castle and Oak Creek, Colorado as well as the following places in Utah: Castle Gate, Latuda, Sego, Hiawatha, Altonah, Price, Salt Lake City, Martin, Ogden, Kaysville, and Holladay.
Lou, Dad, Grandpa, loved to build and fix things and he had an incredible memory for details. Whether it was a car, truck, appliance, or a broken zipper, he always had a solution for any mechanical problem. He was also known for his tomatoes, which was a garden staple. He also loved his roses. , Many rose bushes in various colors line his yard in Holladay and bloom prolifically every summer.
He is survived by his wife, Marion; brother, Charles (Elizabeth), Colorado; brother, Tom, California; his children, Walker Scott (Barbara), Kaysville; Jack (Judy), Phoenix, Ariz.; Jill Martinez (Arcy), Ogden; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews and his faithful dog “Kim”. He is preceded in death by parents, two brothers and one sister.
Brief memorial services will be held at 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 16, 1998, in* the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 3401 South Highland Drive, where family and friends may call from 6-8 p.m. prior to services. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
