Henry LaMar Thomas

Henry LaMar Thomas, 78, of Idaho Falls, died June 8, 1993, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center following a lingering illness.

He was born April 10, 1915 at Samaria, to Henry John and Mary Ann Jenkins Thomas. He grew up in Samaria and attended schools there.

On May 19, 1937, he married Dora Aleain Neal at Malad. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. He worked as a foreman on a ranch in Phillipsburg, Mont., for two years before moving to Dillon, Mont., where he ranched and worked for the county in Dillon. They moved to Howe in 1973 and he had a dairy farm there. He also farmed in Rexburg.

He was an active member of the LDS Church and had served as ward financial clerk in the bishopric in Howe for 15 years.

Survivors include his wife of Idaho Falls; a daughter, Mrs. Lester (LaGay) Reiss of Terreton; five sisters, Vida Bedell, Rachel Marshall and Twila Sylvester, all of Ogden, Utah. Dorothy Williams of Idaho Falls, and Leah Jones of Blackfoot; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Wood Funeral Home in Idaho Falls with Bishop Gregg Manwaring of Idaho Falls LDS 41st Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and Friday for one hour before services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Samaria Cemetery. The family will meet at 3 p.m. Friday at the cemetery.
