MRS. THOMSON DIES SATURDAY MORNING

Bishop Howard Neal officiated at the services Tuesday for Mrs. Rose Evans Thomson, 73, who died August 9, 1958 after a two week illness.

Paul H. Mills offered the prayer at the home and Mary Williams played the prelude and postlude music at the Malad First Ward LDS chapel. Speakers were John J. Roderick, Dr. Thos. W. Richards and Bishop Neal, who read the obituary. Thomas Jones and D. Dredge Thomas offered prayers. Soloists were Louise Yearsley, accompanied by Mrs. Williams, and Leora Brown, accompanied by Iris Barker.

Nephi R. Ipsen dedicated the grave. Flowers were carried by the First Ward Relief Society. Casket bearers were he sons, George Silas, Robert, Ren, Roy, Richard and Melvin Thomson. The Benson Funeral Home directed the burial in the Pleasantview cemetery.

Mrs. Thomson was born September 14, 1884 at Pleasantview, a daughter of Jonah and Jane Morris Evans. She was educated at Samaria and Pleasantview and was married to George Ariston Thomson July 19, 1903, at Pleasantview and the marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

A member of the LDS church, she had worked as a Relief Society teacher, Sunday school and MIA teacher. She moved to Malad in 1940 with her husband. He died two years ago.

She is survived by seven sons and two daughters, George E., Cheyenne; Robert E., Pocatello; Silas E., Phoenix; Melvin E., Roy E., Ely, Nevada; Richard E., Boise; Ren E., Malad; Mrs. Sherman (Ruth) Lund, Bountiful; Mrs. A.R. (Margaret) Davis, Gooding; 27 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a brother and three sisters, Jonah M. Evans; Malad; Mrs. Effie Pilgrim, Mrs. Hazel Oliverson, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Bert (Edna) Green, McCammon.
